Help Us

The Thar Heritage Museum Trust is a registered organization dedicated to the preservation of the ancient rare folk heritage of the desert region of Jaisalmer. This museum was established in the year 2006 by years of individual struggle of folklorist historian writer Laxminarayan Khatri. The work of the trust has been honored by the District Collector and Magistrate Jaisalmer, His Excellency the Governor of Rajasthan.

Thousands of people from India and abroad have praised this museum.

Unfortunately, a massive fire broke out in this museum on June 27, 2022. Many artefacts and furniture were burnt to ashes.

I went from village to village with passion and again collected historically important folk arts from my personal funds and re-established the museum on 22 March 2023.

Presently the museum trust is facing financial problems. Many ancient art objects are lying open in the absence of showcases. Have to do some more heritage collecting as well. Staff salaries are needed for the management and security of the museum. Necessary table chairs, lighting arrangements and office furniture are also needed in the museum.

You are requested to provide financial help for the development and conservation of Thar Heritage Museum. we would be grateful .
